Tamcon Software Solutions is an Ethiopian technology and lottery operations company working in partnership with the Ethiopian Lottery Service (ELS).

Establishment

Born from a strategic joint venture in 2024.

Tamcon Software Solutions was born as a joint venture formed by Tamesol Communications and Convex Technologies in 2024, bringing together Tamesol's vast experience in technology, media, and event management, along with Convex ICT Technologies' expertise in game design and development.

This strategic combination allowed Tamcon to partner with the Ethiopian Lottery Service as the digital lottery operator in Ethiopia for a period of five years.

Tamcon's role extends beyond marketing lottery products. The company coordinates the technology, payment channels, campaign execution, customer support, stakeholder engagement, draw activities, winner communication, prize handovers, reporting, and public activations required to deliver each lottery successfully.

Through this integrated operating model, Tamcon connects citizens with regulated lottery opportunities while creating measurable value for ELS, government institutions, payment providers, media partners, suppliers, and other participating organizations.

Lottery Background

A pioneering digital legacy.

Tamesol successfully set up its SMS gateway as early as 2010, coinciding with the launch of Ethio Telecom's Value-Added Services (VAS). Using this gateway, it provided SMS lottery services for multiple charities, raising substantial funds in the process.

Our efforts to transform the lottery system to digital were achieved using the limited SMS technology available at the time, long before the advent of mobile applications or services like Ethio Telecom's package transfer. We innovatively utilized credit deductions from customers' balances, even before mobile money services were introduced.

This initiative stands as one of the earliest digital lottery services in Ethiopia, showcasing our pioneering spirit and commitment to leveraging technology for social impact.
